When Artworks founder
Piero Mussi immigrated to the United States
from his native Italy, he brought with him a collection of old-world foundry skills he had
learned from master craftsmen in his home country. Today, those skills continue on in
Artworks 20,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility, producing with style and
precision your 4 inch or 40 foot project.
Artworks exclusively uses the lost wax casting technique using
ceramic shell technology. Our services include enlargement, rubber molds, casting, metal
finishing, fabrication and patina. Our patineurs can create magical patinas while our
metal finishers can make bronze defy gravity with complex internal structures.
We are
fully capable of undertaking the design, plan and implementation of monumental works
including shipping and installation worldwide.
A full suite of studios are available on the premises. The studios are
well lit with high ceilings and heaters. If you prefer the familiar environs of your own
studio, we can make molds off-site.
We have successfully done our job at Artworks if we translate your
original clay sculpture into bronze while preserving the integrity of the original.
To
help ensure this, we strongly encourage your participation throughout the lost wax
process. We realize that quality cannot be delivered unless we are listening to the Artist
before the mold is made and then again in wax, metal and patina. Artworks is committed to
making your project as interactive as you would like it to be.
We also understand the importance of maintaining a professional,
business-like approach throughout the project. We build relationships based on
communication, prompt delivery, competitive prices and outstanding quality.
