Twenty-five years ago L. Alan Noble hung out his shingle - Noble Studio. In the years since he has amassed a most impressive string of credentials as an artist, both in illustration and sculpture.

Noble's many achievements include designing numerous motion picture advertising campaigns including "Flash Gordon," "The Empire Strikes Back," (tenth anniversary) and others. Noble's sculpture can be seen in the popular movie "Searching for Bobby Fisher," as well as a piece for the Disney film "The Rock." The Daytona 500 commissioned Noble to sculpt the Driver's Trophy, and the Danbury Mint selected him to design and produce the Star Wars Chess Set.

His first bronze sculpture, a life size equestrian monument to Civil War General Philip H. Sheridan was unveiled in Chicago in June 1990. In addition, he was commissioned to produce a life-size bronze statue of stage actress Lillian Russell and a half life-size bronze statue of Diamond Jim Brady. Noble was also commissioned to create a bronze bust of Gene Roddenberry, creator of "Star Trek."

Residents of the Inland Empire know L. Alan Noble best as the creator of the seven-foot bronze statue of Jack Benny, which stands at the main entrance to the Epicenter, home of the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes minor league baseball team.
