Lawrence Alan Noble was born in Tampa, Florida in 1948. He was raised in Houston, Texas and after graduating from High School in 1967, was educated at Texas Academy of Art (Graduated, 1969) and the Houston Museum of Fine Arts School (1974-75. He opened Noble Studio in 1973. Noble Studio moved to New York in 1976, to Los Angeles in late 1977 and to Crestline, CA in 1988.

For 17 years, Mr. Noble worked as a freelance Illustrator, with representation in Houston, Atlanta, San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York. His work was featured on the cover/feature article of AMERICAN ARTIST Magazine in March of 1983. Noble produced many motion picture advertising campaigns including TIME AFTER TIME, FLASH GORDON, and THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK (10th Anniversary Poster). He was commissioned by TIME, PLAYBOY, ARGOSY, FORBES, WORLD TENNIS and FIELD & STREAM Magazines during his Illustration career. He was the recipient of many awards of merit from the SOCIETY OF ILLUSTRATORS, New York and the SOCIETY OF ILLUSTRATORS, Los Angeles, and taught Advanced Advertising Illustration at Art Center College of Design from 1979-81.

Lawrence Noble’s sculpture career started in 1988, with a commission to sculpt a Life-size Equestrian Statue of General Philip H, Sheridan, for Ft. Sheridan, ILL (unveiled, 1990). Mr. Noble has gone on to produce monumental statues for the State of California, (The California Firefighters’ Memorial, 2002), The San Bernardino County Peace Officers’ Memorial, (1999), the Redlands, CA 9-11 Memorial, (2002), the Tracy, CA Firefighters’ Monument (2006), the Chino, CA Spirit of Achievement Monument, (2007) and four Life-size bronzes for the Letterman Digital Arts Center (George Lucas’ Corporate Headquarters at the Presidio of San Francisco, CA), 2005-7. He has also recently sent his first life-size bronze overseas to New Zealand, a private commission from Director, Peter Jackson.

Lawrence Noble’s work is in the collections of Burt Reynolds, George Lucas, Lawrence Halprin, Peter Jackson, The State of California, The National Park Service and the US Army Museum.

In addition, Mr. Noble’s sculpture was featured in an article in AMERICAN ARTIST Magazine in February, 2003. He is an Honorary Firefighter with the city of Redlands, CA and the Crest Forest Fire Department in Crestline, CA. He is featured in WHO’S WHO in the World. He has participated in the National Sculpture Society shows, POLITICAL PORTRAITS, 1997, WORLD LEADERS, 2000, DRAWINGS BY SCULPTORS, 2000, and the 73rd ANNUAL EXHIBITION, 2006-7, in which he won the Leonard J. Meiselman Award. In September of 2006, Lawrence Noble was elected a Professional Member of the National Sculpture Society.
